Gluten Free Hot Cross Bun Baked Oats

Ingredients

FOR THE BAKED OATS

50g PureOaty gluten free oats 

120ml  PureOaty Creamy & Enriched Oat Milk

1 banana

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp cinnamon 

½ tsp vanilla extract 

Lemon and orange zest

20g raisins 


FOR THE CROSS

1 tbsp plain flour 

2 tsp water

Directions

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. 

Blend the oats, oat milk, banana, baking powder, cinnamon, vanilla extract and lemon zest together to create a smooth batter. 

Pour the batter into an oven safe ramekin. Sprinkle the raisins on top. 

In a separate bowl, mix the plain flour and water to create a smooth mixture to pipe on top. If it is too dry, add a little bit more water until you get your desired consistency. 

Pipe the cross on top of the batter. 

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and risen. 


Optional – Add 1 tbsp marmalade to a bowl and microwave for 45 seconds. Using a pastry brush, brush the top of the oats with the warm marmalade to make it look like a freshly baked hot cross bun.
