Indian Plain Naan Bread

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 ½ cups of gluten free white bread mix
  • 1 x sachet dried yeast
  • ¼ cup of warm water
  • 3 teaspoons of sugar
  • ¼ cup of natural yogurt
  • 1 beaten egg (or egg replacement powder)
  • ¼ cup of melted butter or dairy-free margarine
  • A good dash of oil
  • 2 teaspoons of salt

Directions

1.

Preheat oven to 230C/450F/gas mark 8. Sprinkle yeast over a quarter cup of warm water and leave for a few minutes then stir to dissolve.

Add 1 teaspoon of sugar, stir and leave to froth.

Mix natural yogurt and the rest of the sugar in a bowl until smooth.

Add in the remaining warm water, egg, butter, oil and salt. Stir in the yeast mix.

5.

In another bowl, add 2 cups of gluten free flour and make a hole, pour in the mixture and beat well. When it is stiff, knead the dough using a little extra flour.

6.

Cook for 10 minutes.
