R&D and Process Engineer
The role
The R&D and Process Engineer is responsible for the continuous improvement of the production process and, working alongside the NPD Manager and Technologist, in the development of new products for our in-house brands, customer private labels and food manufacturers. Identifying and design/installation of new machinery as required for product line expansion, fulfilling and driving opportunities. Managing NPD projects, factory trials and scaling products from concept to production.
Your responsibilities
Key aspects of the role include:
• Identify and design/install additional plant and machinery according to business need and development opportunities.
• Reviewing engineering documentation and specifications.
• Assess and implement projects for analysis or R&D.
• Continuous improvement of the production area.
• Commissioning of plant and equipment aligning to BRC requirements.
• Mentor team members to promote creativity and innovation
• Partner closely with Operations, Technical and Commercial teams to manage risk and resolve challenges
Skills and experience
• Knowledge and experience of production plant and processes including commissioning
• Minimum Degree level qualification in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry or other related subject
• Sound manufacturing engineering knowledge
• Experience of brewing or beverage production including enzyme technologies
• Sound experience of BRC and ISO standards.
• Expertise in continuous improvement of both process and plant.
• Managing people and customer experiences.
• NPD Project management.
• Knowledge of capital investment projects.
• Knowledge and experience in Health and Safety, HACCP, COSHH.

This is a 40-hour-per-week role, typically Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm. However, we’re open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
