The role
An interesting role for anyone wants to get involved in food manufacturing. You will be supporting the Technical Team, working within our Laboratory on site here at Glebe Farm Foods.

the responsibilities

Key aspects of the role include:

• To be able to carry out all tests as required for analytical and chemical analysis. For raw material and finished products.

• Responsibility for preparing and sending out Microbiology samples.

• To be able to carry out environmental and plant hygiene swabs.

• To be able to complete when required taste panels, and management of reference samples.

• To work safely regarding personal safety and the safety of colleagues and others.

• To be able to work unsupervised but within an agreed work schedule.

• To be able to ensure that all stock is rotated correctly, conduct stock takes and report to management any stock needed.

• To carry out housekeeping duties as per schedule and to dispose of waste safely and correctly.

• To be competent with lab databases LIM’s or similar system.

• To demonstrate competency in testing via internal and external monitoring procedures and to conduct internal audits to schedule.

• To determine and act on non-complying results by communicating information and following up with re-sampling and re-testing.

• To respond to requests for product release by email/telephone.

• To prioritise the given workload, and to ensure lab KPIs are met.

Skills and experience

This role requires the following technical skills and experience:

• The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months experience within a Laboratory environment.

• Be computer literate.

• To be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and all levels of management.

• To be able to demonstrate ability to work under pressure, assess workload to ensure all the testing required is carried out in a timely manner.
