Head of Finance

Full-Time or Part-Time / Permanent

The key purpose for this role is to manage the finance strategy and function for four family-controlled businesses across farming and food manufacturing. This role offers flexible working per week (3-5 days) and a competitive salary.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Responsible for managing a small finance team
  • Support the growth and development of the 4 companies by being a business partner to the Managing Directors
  • Financial input into business strategy
  • Responsible for the operation and integrity of Sage 200 across 4 companies as well as the Time and Attendance system
  • Preparation of annual accounts for the 4 businesses
  • Banking / insurance
  • Management of all taxes
  • Cost control and cashflow analysis for commercial and large projects
  • Liaison with external auditors
  • Oversees monthly payroll
  • Oversees business cost control
  • Treasury management of multiple accounts in GBP and Euros and authorise weekly payment runs
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting
  • Any other tasks that may reasonably be required by the business

This role requires the following technical skills and experience:

  • Qualified with significant amount of industry experience in senior financial leadership role (ACA, ACCA)
  • Ideally with manufacturing / food industry experience
  • SME and owner managed business experience an advantage
  • Excellent IT knowledge, specifically Excel and Sage 200

Management Accountant

Full-Time / Permanent

The key purpose of this role is to provide day to day financial advice, support and planning for the Glebe Farm group of companies and offers a competitive salary.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Management of the Sage 200 system across 4 companies
  • Management accounts for Food Processing Business and Farm
  • Sales/Production/Labour/Margin KPIs
  • Product Costings/Bill of Materials Maintenance
  • Annual Budgeting/Forecasting
  • Exposure to auditing
  • Monthly wages preparation and liaison with Payroll bureau.
  • Preparation of 3xmothly VAT Returns and 1x quarterly VAT returns
  • Intercompany reconciliation
  • Purchasing
  • Any other tasks that may reasonably be required by the business.

This role requires the following technical skills and experience:

  • Newly / recently qualified with industry versus practice experience
  • Ideally with manufacturing / food industry experience
  • SME and owner managed business experience an advantage
  • Excellent IT knowledge, specifically Excel and Sage 200.
  • CIMA qualified

Production Operative

This is a very interesting role for anyone that wants to get involved in food manufacturing. You will be supporting the production and packing of all our gluten-free oat products. For this role you will need to be able to carry a minimum of 20-25kg multiple times daily. This will initially be a 3-month fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming a permanent contract.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety/food safety and hygiene controls
  • Maintain GMP standards in area
  • Ensure waste is fully segregated in line with company procedures
  • Stacking of pallets as required
  • Remove waste and keep yards and work areas clean and tidy
  • Able to safely use hand pump trucks
  • Able to identify material and product varieties
  • Assist with the collection of quality samples
  • Infeed and collection to/from Productions Areas and Goods In.
  • Working closely with Operation to ensure right products are delivered as and when required to ensure optimum stock levels at all times in production floor.

This role requires the following technical skills and experience:

  •  Must have good food and safety knowledge.
  •  Knowledge of manufacturing and production process.
  •  Forklift driving experience would be of advantage.

This role requires the following personal attributes:

  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Able to communicate with people from different backgrounds.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift or shift boxes/pallets around.

Process Multi-Skilled Engineer

The key purpose of the Process Multi skilled Engineer is to ensure maintenance of all plant and services site. We are looking for someone with 70% electrical and 30% mechanical experience.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Conduct the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
  • Ensure effective running, maximum uptime & minimal downtime for all our internal customers.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety process and procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for all plant and machinery on site.
  • Ensure all parts that are required are requested/ordered and in a timely manner, with particular attention to essential items/longer lead times.
  • Ensure that all work carried out meets current legislative standards
  • Implement site production improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out small in-house projects and implement to include full commissioning
  • any other tasks that may reasonably be required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level, BTEC Level 3 or HND.
  • Fault finding experience especially in PLC control and instrumentation.
  • Experience in mechanicals, pump and valves process.

Multi-Skilled Engineer

We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer that has a good mix of electrical and mechanical experience to assist the Engineering and Maintenance Manager in providing support for all production activity and the construction of our Tetra Pak milk plant.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Conduct the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
  • Ensure effective running, maximum uptime & minimal downtime for all our internal customers.
  • Ensure that site PM and legal checks are completed in the agreed timescales.
  • Ensure H&S process are being followed.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to meet current legislative standards
  • Ensure all parts that are required are requested/ordered and in a timely manner, with particular attention to essential items/longer lead times.
  • Propose and implement site production improvements.
  • any other tasks that may reasonably be required by colleagues.

Skills & Experience:

This role requires the following technical skills and experience:

  • Ideally possess a mechanical/electrical qualification or relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in the food manufacturing industry would be an advantage.

This role requires the following personal attributes:

  • Able to identify faults, especially in PLC control and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrable experience on steam pipe work.
  • Demonstrable experience on Boiler room BOAS Certification (training could be provided)
  • Demonstrable experience on HVAC and chiller
  • Effective communications skills at all levels
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Able to build good relationships with the wider team.

Cleaner

This role will suit a hard-working individual with excellent organisation and housekeeping skills. An in-depth knowledge of cleaning solutions and their uses would be an advantage, along with a working knowledge of health and safety standards in the food industry and an ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc)
  • Perform and document routine inspections
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Take apart machines and cleaning them to the highest possible standard
  • Assembling the machinery back together
  • Work with cleaning materials and substances
  • Notifying management of machinery needs repair
  • Perform cleaning tasks including (but not exclusively) to toilets, kitchen areas, commercial offices, production work areas and corridors
  • Replenishment of kitchen and washroom consumables
  • Attend to any spillages as quickly as possible to eliminate any Health and Safety issues on site
  • Maintain assigned cleaning cupboard to the standards and requirements
